Authorities said one man was killed and three others were injured following a head on accident Wednesday afternoon on Galena Road in Little Rock Township.
Little Rock Township, IL.- One person was killed and three others were injured following a head on accident Wednesday afternoon in Kendall County.
The accident occurred around 1:41 p.m. on July 29 on Galena Road west of Clark Road.
Investigators said 49 year old Daniel Hoffmann of Earlville was traveling westbound on Galena Road when he attempted to pass another vehicle and entered the eastbound lane.
Authorities said Hoffmann’s vehicle collided head on with an eastbound vehicle.
Hoffmann, who was the sole occupant of his vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Kendall County Coroner determined he died from blunt force injuries.
The occupants of the eastbound vehicle, a 38 year old woman and two children, were transported to a local hospital with significant injuries that were not believed to be life threatening.
Galena Road remained closed for about three hours while emergency crews cleared the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
