Maywood, IL.- One person was killed following a motorcycle accident Thursday night in Maywood.
The accident occurred just after 8:30 p.m. on July 30 on eastbound Interstate 290 near 1st Avenue.
Authorities said the collision involved two motorcycles.
One person was transported to a local hospital, where they later died from their injuries.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
Two eastbound lanes of Interstate 290 remained closed until around midnight while investigators processed the scene.
Officials have not determined the cause of the accident, and it remains unclear whether the riders were part of a larger group of motorcyclists traveling through the Chicago area that evening.
The accident remains under investigation.
