4 Killed in Police Pursuit Accident on South Cicero Avenue in Chicago

Police said four people were killed after a high speed police pursuit ended in a fatal accident early Sunday morning on South Cicero Avenue in Chicago.

Chicago, IL.- Four people were killed following a police pursuit accident Sunday morning in Chicago.

The accident occurred at approximately 2:16 a.m. on July 26 in the 6900 block of South Cicero Avenue.

Police said officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the pickup truck fled at a high rate of speed.

Investigators said the pickup truck left the South Cicero Avenue bridge and struck a train boxcar.

Three occupants, including two men and one woman, were pronounced dead at the scene.

A fourth female occupant was transported to Advocate Christ Hospital in critical condition. Authorities later confirmed she also died from her injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
