2 Hurt in Three-Vehicle Accident on U.S. Route 150 in Coal Valley

Authorities said two people were injured following a three vehicle accident Thursday evening on U.S. Route 150 in Coal Valley.

Coal Valley, IL.- Two people were injured following a multi vehicle accident Thursday evening in Coal Valley, according to the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident occurred at approximately 5:58 p.m. on July 24 in the 10000 block of U.S. Route 150.

Authorities said multiple occupants were involved in the collision, and two people were transported by ambulance to local hospitals for treatment.

Early reports indicated one person had to be extricated from a vehicle before being taken to a hospital.

Investigators said a pickup truck sustained severe damage, including its rear axle being torn away.

Traffic was backed up while U.S. Route 150 remained temporarily closed as crews removed the damaged vehicles.

Additional information regarding the extent of the injuries and the circumstances leading up to the accident has not been released.

The accident remains under investigation.
