Authorities said one man was killed and a child was seriously injured following a motorcycle accident Monday night at the intersection of County Road 100 East and County Road 1300 North in Madison County.
Madison County, IN.- One person was killed and a child was injured following a motorcycle accident Monday night in Madison County.
The accident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on July 20 at the intersection of County Road 100 East and County Road 1300 North.
Investigators said a 2016 Dodge Journey driven by 46 year old Ruth A. Paugh of Anderson was traveling eastbound when it entered the intersection and failed to yield to a northbound Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle.
The motorcycle was operated by 33 year old Matthew Scott Doud of Summitville.
Doud was pronounced dead following the collision, according to the Madison County Coroner’s Office.
A child who was riding as a passenger on the motorcycle was transported to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis with significant injuries.
Authorities said Paugh was not injured and remained at the scene. She is cooperating with the investigation.
The accident remains under investigation.
