3 Hurt in Ambulance Accident on Interstate 95 in Melbourne

Troopers said three people were injured after an ambulance overturned Monday evening on Interstate 95 in Melbourne.

Melbourne, FL.- Three people were injured following an ambulance accident Monday evening in Melbourne, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred around 5 p.m. on July 20 on southbound Interstate 95 near Melbourne.

Troopers said the ambulance, operated by American Medical Response (AMR), lost traction and traveled onto the right shoulder.

Investigators said the driver attempted to steer the ambulance back onto the roadway, causing the vehicle to overturn.

The driver and two passengers were transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
