23-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Accident at Spencer Street and Serene Avenue in Las Vegas

Police said a 23 year old motorcyclist was killed following an accident involving an SUV early Sunday morning at the intersection of Spencer Street and Serene Avenue in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas, NV.- A motorcyclist was killed following a two vehicle accident early Sunday morning in Las Vegas.

The accident occurred around 1:45 a.m. on July 19 at the intersection of Spencer Street and Serene Avenue.

Investigators said the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Spencer Street when a Volkswagen Tiguan traveling eastbound on Serene Avenue made a left turn against a red arrow, causing the two vehicles to collide.

Both vehicles sustained major damage in the collision.

The 23 year old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

Police identified the driver of the Volkswagen Tiguan as 57 year old Danny Simpkins. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI related offenses.

Eastbound Serene Avenue was temporarily closed at Spencer Street while investigators collected evidence.

The accident remains under investigation.
