Police said a 55 year old Kent man was killed after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night at the intersection of South 236th Street and Pacific Highway South in Kent.
Kent, WA.- A pedestrian was killed following an accident Saturday night in Kent.
The accident occurred around 9:40 p.m. on July 18 at the intersection of South 236th Street and Pacific Highway South.
Emergency crews provided life saving measures at the scene, but the 55 year old pedestrian was pronounced dead.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
Authorities said the driver, a 35 year old Federal Way resident, was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence involving marijuana.
The driver also faces a first degree negligent driving allegation involving a vulnerable road user.
Southbound Pacific Highway South was closed while investigators collected evidence before the roadway reopened.
The accident remains under investigation.
