Troopers said a 25 year old man suffered serious injuries following an accident involving an SUV and a semi tractor trailer early Friday morning on the entrance ramp to Florida’s Turnpike in Orlando.
Orlando, FL.- One person was seriously injured following a truck accident Friday morning in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on July 17 on the northbound entrance ramp to Florida’s Turnpike from SR 408 westbound.
Troopers said the collision involved a 2011 Lincoln MKX and a Volvo semi tractor trailer.
Following the collision, the Lincoln became partially engulfed in flames.
The driver of the Lincoln, a 25 year old Kissimmee man, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the semi tractor trailer, a 37 year old Tampa man, was not injured and remained at the scene.
The entrance ramp was closed for about two hours while emergency crews responded to the accident and cleared the roadway.
The roadway reopened around 5:30 a.m.
The accident remains under investigation.
