Troopers said several people were injured, including at least one person who suffered critical injuries, after a wrong way accident Friday evening on Interstate 10 near Ray Road in Chandler.
Chandler, AZ.- Several people were injured following a multi vehicle accident Friday evening in Chandler, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The accident occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. on July 17 on eastbound Interstate 10 near the Ray Road off ramp at milepost 159.
Troopers responded after receiving reports of a wrong way driver. When they arrived, they found multiple vehicles involved in the collision.
Authorities said multiple people were injured, including at least one person who sustained critical injuries.
Investigators believe impairment was a factor involving the wrong way driver.
The lanes have since reopened.
The accident remains under investigation.
