Pedestrian Killed in Accident near Capital Circle SE and Mideyette Road in Tallahassee

Authorities said a pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning near the intersection of Capital Circle SE and Mideyette Road in Tallahassee.

Tallahassee, FL.- A pedestrian was killed following an accident Wednesday morning in Tallahassee.

The accident occurred at approximately 7:53 a.m. on July 15 near the intersection of Capital Circle SE and Mideyette Road.

Officials said a passerby reported seeing a person lying in the roadway as traffic quickly backed up and emergency crews responded to the scene.

Southbound traffic on Capital Circle SE was diverted onto Old St. Augustine Road for several hours while investigators worked at the scene, causing significant traffic delays.

Authorities later confirmed the pedestrian died as a result of the accident.

Police said the driver remained at the scene and the collision is not being investigated as a hit and run.

The identity of the pedestrian has not been released.

The accident remains under investigation.
