Chicago, IL.- Four people were injured following a multi vehicle accident Thursday morning in Chicago, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
The accident occurred on July 16 on the Eisenhower Expressway just past Ashland Avenue.
Officials said the collision involved at least four vehicles. At least one vehicle caught fire following the accident, prompting a large emergency response.
Four people were transported to local hospitals.
Authorities said two patients were listed in critical condition, while another suffered serious injuries. Information regarding the fourth injured person and the identities of those involved has not been released.
The roadway was temporarily affected while emergency crews treated the injured, extinguished the vehicle fire, and cleared the scene. All lanes have since reopened.
The accident remains under investigation.
