Authorities said a motorcyclist was seriously injured following a multi vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon on Highway 217 in Tigard.
Tigard, OR.- One person was seriously injured following a motorcycle accident Tuesday afternoon near Tigard.
The accident occurred shortly after 3:45 p.m. on July 14 on southbound Highway 217 between Greenberg Road and Highway 99.
Investigators said the motorcyclist first clipped another vehicle before being thrown into the path of a pickup truck traveling in the adjacent lane.
Emergency crews arrived to find the rider pinned beneath the pickup truck and worked to free the motorcyclist from underneath the vehicle.
The rider was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Traffic was heavily impacted while crews responded to the scene. The middle and right southbound lanes of Highway 217, along with the Greenberg Road on ramp, remained closed for several hours before reopening around 6:15 p.m.
The accident remains under investigation.
