Authorities said one person was injured after a fiery semi truck accident early Tuesday morning on Interstate 65 near Edinburgh.
Edinburgh, IN.- One person was injured following a semi truck accident early Tuesday morning in Bartholomew County.
The accident was reported around 1:30 a.m. on July 14 on Interstate 65 northbound near mile marker 79, just south of Edinburgh.
Authorities said the accident involved a semi tractor and two semi trailers. The vehicles and their contents caught fire, sending heavy flames and smoke into the area.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and closed all northbound lanes of Interstate 65 for several hours while firefighters extinguished the blaze and crews cleared the roadway.
One person was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The interstate reopened around 7:45 a.m.
The accident remains under investigation.
