Pedestrian Dies in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on US 27 in Hendry County

Hendry County, FL. – A pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run collision early Sunday morning in Hendry County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at 2:00 a.m. on June 28 on US 27.

Troopers said a car was heading southbound when it struck a pedestrian trying to cross the roadway.

The pedestrian was declared dead at the crash site.

The driver fled the scene after the accident.

The suspect car was described as a white 1999 Ford Ranger Pickup Truck with Florida License Tag 57G-DPV. It had a toolbox in the back and damage to the left fog lamp.

Anyone with details of the vehicle of the driver is asked to contact the FHP officials.

An investigation is underway.
