Troopers said a Chevy Cobalt was heading northbound on North Turkey Creek Road when it entered the junction against a red traffic signal into the path of an eastbound Dodge Journey traveling on State Road 60.

Plant City, FL.- Two women were killed and two others were injured on Friday afternoon in Plant City, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at around 12:50 p.m. on June 19, at the State Road 60 and North Turkey Creek Road intersection.
Troopers said a Chevy Cobalt was heading northbound on North Turkey Creek Road when it entered the junction against a red traffic signal into the path of an eastbound Dodge Journey traveling on State Road 60.
The Dodge Journey crashed into the Chevy Cobalt. The Chevy then drove into the northeast corner of the junction where it crashed into a shed. The Dodge on the other hand drove northeast and crashed into a Kia K5 that was halted in the westbound left-turn on SR-60 at Turkey Creek Road.
The Chevy driver, a 59-year-old Plant City woman, and her passenger, a 59-year-old Dover woman, were declared dead at the crash site.
The Dodge Journey driver, a 71-year-old Sebring woman, and the driver of the Kia K5, a 20-year-old Plant City woman, suffered minor injuries due to the collision.
An investigation is underway.
