Loves Park, IL. – A pedestrian was severely injured following a hit-and-run collision on Wednesday morning in Loves Park, according to the Loves Park Police Department.

The accident happened at around 10:40 a.m. on June 17, in the 400 block of Clifford Avenue.

Police said a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle for reasons yet to be determined.

The involved driver fled the scene after the collision.

The pedestrian sustained severe injuries and was rushed to an area hospital for treatment.

Police confirmed the car has since been identified and located but no one has been arrested.

An investigation by the Loves Park Police Department is underway.
