Alton, IL. – At least one person was killed after a fiery collision late Sunday night in Alton, according to the Alton Police Department.
The accident occurred a while before 11:30 p.m. on June 14, in the 2200 block of State Street.
Police said a pickup truck was heading northbound along State Street when it went off the road, struck an unoccupied car and crashed into a tree. The truck was fully engulfed in flames and was in front of a home after the accident.
At least one individual was killed in the collision.
The remains found in the truck were taken to the Madison County Coroner’s Office for identification.
No other injuries were reported following the accident.
