Police said the female bicyclist was crossing near Lake Street and Hillside Avenue when she was struck by a Canadian National freight train in unclear circumstances.

Grayslake, IL. – A female bicyclist was killed after a freight train accident last week Tuesday, according to the Metra Police.
The accident happened a while after 8:00 p.m. on June 9 near Lake and Hillside.
Police said the female bicyclist was crossing near Lake Street and Hillside Avenue when she was struck by a Canadian National freight train in unclear circumstances.
The 60-year-old woman was killed in the collision.
The intersection was closed for hours following the crash. The roadway was re-opened by early Wednesday morning.
An investigation by the Metra Police is ongoing.
