Troopers said a 46-year-old man was heading west on the highway near Fisher Road in a red Mazda3 when he crossed the center line for unknown reasons and crashed head-on into a white Chevrolet Equinox heading eastbound. The Chevy rolled over and rested in the westbound lane while the Mazda3 drove eastbound and hit a red Hyundai Elantra.

Lane County, OR. – A Springfield man was killed after a multi-vehicle accident on Monday afternoon in Lane County, according to the Oregon State Police.
The accident happened at about 4:00 p.m. on June 15, on Highway 126 near milepost 52.
Troopers said a 46-year-old man was heading west on the highway near Fisher Road in a red Mazda3 when he crossed the center line for unknown reasons and crashed head-on into a white Chevrolet Equinox heading eastbound. The Chevy rolled over and rested in the westbound lane while the Mazda3 drove eastbound and hit a red Hyundai Elantra.
The 46-year-old Mazda3 driver was pronounced dead at the crash site.
The two Chevy occupants were not hurt while the Hyundai driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The roadway was blocked for around four hours to give way to an on-scene investigation.
The Lane County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon Department of Transportation, Lane Fire Authority and the Lane County Medical Examiner’s Office assisted the OSP at the scene.
