Phoenix, AZ.- A 36-year-old pedestrian was killed after a DUI pedestrian accident early Tuesday morning in Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The accident happened about 2:20 a.m. on June 16, near 57th Avenue and McDowell Road.

Police said the pedestrian was crossing the mid-block when he was struck by a 27-year-old female driver.

The pedestrian was declared dead at the crash site.

The female driver remained at the scene after the crash. She was with her 7-month child in the car at the time.

The woman showed signs of impairment and was arrested. She is facing one count of aggravated DUI.

The child was not hurt and was released to the family after the crash.

An investigation is underway.
