2 Injured After Backs into UPS Store on West Jefferson Street in Shorewood

Police said a vehicle backed into a UPS store and hit an employee inside the store pinning them under the vehicle.

2 Injured After Vehicle Accident on West Jefferson Street in Shorewood

Shorewood, IL. – Two people were injured after a traffic collision on Monday afternoon in Shorewood, according to the Illinois State Police.

The accident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. on June 8, in the 1100 block of West Jefferson Street.

Police said a vehicle backed into a UPS store and hit an employee inside the store pinning them under the vehicle.

The employee was freed from the vehicle and was rushed to Prime Healthcare Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet with lower body injuries. 

The driver and the passenger of the vehicle were treated at the scene. The driver was transported to Saint Joseph Medical Center for further treatment while the passenger declined further treatment.

The Shorewood Building Department is evaluating the damage and the vehicle was removed from the crash site.

An investigation is underway.
