Albuquerque, N.M. – A man riding a moped was killed in a collision on Saturday afternoon in Albuquerque.
According to the Albuquerque Police Department, the collision occurred at the intersection of Zuni Road and San Pablo Street.
A moped rider was traveling southbound on San Pablo Street, approaching the intersection at Zuni Road SE. He entered the intersection against a red light at a high rate of speed and collided with a 2007 Honda sedan traveling westbound on Zuni Road.
The Honda driver hit the brakes, but it was unsuccessful.
The moped rider was transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital, where he later died.
The Honda had one passenger on board.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
