14-Year-Old Boy Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Lancaster Drive in Salem

Salem, OR. – A 14-year-old boy was killed after a pedestrian accident on Tuesday evening in Salem, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident happened at around 5:15 p.m. on June 2 on Lancaster Drive Southeast near Mahrt Avenue South. 

Deputies said the boy was hit by a vehicle in unclear circumstances.

The boy was declared dead at the scene.

Lancaster Drive Southeast between State Street and Mahrt Avenue Southeast was closed for more than three hours to give way to an on-scene investigation. Drivers were asked to use alternate areas.

No additional details regarding this crash were provided.

No one has been arrested following the crash.

An investigation is underway.
