Troopers said a sedan was heading west when it crossed the centerline and crashed head-on into an eastbound pickup truck. Moments later, a second westbound sedan traveling behind the first vehicle at a short distance hit debris from the first crash scattered across the roadway.

Marion County, FL. – A 30-year-old Leesburg man was killed after a multi-vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon in Marion County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident happened a while before 2:00 p.m. on June 3, on County Road 42, east of Southeast 105th Avenue.
Troopers said a sedan was heading west when it crossed the centerline and crashed head-on into an eastbound pickup truck. Moments later, a second westbound sedan traveling behind the first vehicle at a short distance hit debris from the first crash scattered across the roadway.
The sedan driver that crossed the centerline was declared dead at the crash site. Two passengers were in the same vehicle, a man and a 27-year-old woman, at the time.
The man left the scene after the accident while the woman was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
The pickup truck driver, a 32-year-old Summerfield man, and his passenger, a 4-year-old boy, sustained minor injuries after the collision.
Five occupants were in the third car including two children. None of the five occupants was injured.
Police closed County Road 42 for around three hours to give way to an on-scene investigation.
No additional details regarding this crash were released.
The incident remains under investigation.
