2 Hurt in Hit-and-Run Semi-Truck Accident on I-84 in Multnomah County

Multnomah County, OR. – Two people were injured after a hit-and-run accident on Monday night in Multnomah County, according to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened at around 9:00 p.m. on May 18, on eastbound I-84 near the Dalton Point Recreation Site.

Deputies said a driver of a blue or purple-colored semi-truck pulling a trailer changed lanes and clipped the front passenger side of the water truck, causing the water truck driver to lose control and roll onto the driver’s side. The commercial water truck was found around 100 feet into the forest.

The driver and passenger suffered minor injuries and cooperated with investigators.

Authorities said the tank only had water and ruled out a hazardous materials threat.

The semi-truck operator did not stop after the accident.

An investigation is underway.
