Police said a green Chevrolet Silverado operated by a 63-year-old man of Lebanon was heading eastbound on Highway 126 near Redmond when it crossed into the westbound travel lane for unknown reasons. At the same time, a westbound blue Subaru Outback driven by a 77-year-old man of Redmond, tried to avoid the Chevrolet and the two cars crashed head-on.

Deschutes County, OR. – One person was killed and two others were seriously hurt after a traffic collision on Sunday afternoon in Deschutes County, according to the Oregon State Police.
The accident happened at 1:11 p.m. on May 17, on Highway 126 near milepost 107.
Police said a green Chevrolet Silverado operated by a 63-year-old man of Lebanon was heading eastbound on Highway 126 near Redmond when it crossed into the westbound travel lane for unknown reasons. At the same time, a westbound blue Subaru Outback driven by a 77-year-old man of Redmond, tried to avoid the Chevrolet and the two cars crashed head-on.
The Chevrolet was declared dead at the crash site.
The Chevrolet passenger, a 66-year-old Lebanon woman, was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of severe injuries.
The Subaru driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The highway was closed for around three hours to give way to an on-scene investigation.
The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon Department of Transportation assisted the OSP at the scene.
