Maywood, IL. – An 11-year-old boy was killed and five others were hurt after a traffic collision on Sunday morning in Chicago, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The accident happened at about 11:10 a.m. on May 17 on Interstate 290 at 25th Street.
Deputies said two vehicles crashed in unclear circumstances. The crash was described as a rollover collision.
The boy was declared dead at the crash site. Five others were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police closed the outbound lanes on the highway until around 4:00 p.m.
