Deputies said a car was traveling westbound on State Route 74 when it crossed in the left center and crashed into two eastbound vehicles.
Peoria, AZ. – According to the Peoria Police Department, one individual was killed after a traffic collision on Friday morning in Peoria.
The accident occurred at 9:47 a.m. on May 15, on State Route 74 near Milepost 23.
Deputies said a car was traveling westbound on State Route 74 when it crossed in the left center and crashed into two eastbound vehicles.
Four people were taken to area hospitals for treatment. One of them, an 81-year-old man from Chandler, suffered critical injuries and he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police did not suspect impairment to have played a role in the accident.
The roadway was closed for several hours to give way to an on-scene investigation. The highway has since reopened.
No other details regarding the incident were released.
The incident remains under investigation.
