Police said the male driver was heading south in a Subaru when he drove off the roadway, hit a tree, and drove down an embankment before catching fire.

Marion County, OR. – An 18-year-old male driver was killed and a passenger severely injured after a single-vehicle accident early Wednesday morning in Marion County, according to the Oregon State Police.
The accident happened a while before 2:00 a.m. on April 29 on Highway 214 near milepost 22.
Police said the male driver was heading south in a Subaru when he drove off the roadway, hit a tree, and drove down an embankment before catching fire.
The man was killed in the collision. His 24-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital for treatment of severe injuries.
Police suspected speed played a role in the accident.
No other information concerning this crash was provided.
