Silver Springs, FL. – Two people were killed after a multi-car accident early Wednesday morning in Silver Springs, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred a while before 2:00 a.m. on State Road 40.
Troopers said a 43-year-old woman was operating her SUV east on State Road 40 when the sedan drove over the centerline and struck the SUV head-on. The sedan caught fire after the crash.
The sedan driver was declared dead at the crash site.
The 43-year-old woman was transported to the hospital where she died.
Police closed East Highway in both directions at the intersection of Highway 326 but the roadways have since reopened.
No additional information concerning this crash was provided.
