Columbia County, OR. – A man was killed after a traffic collision on Sunday evening in Rainier in Columbia County, according to the Oregon State Police.

The accident occurred a while after 7:00 p.m. on April 12, on Highway 30.

Police said a gray Subaru Outback was heading westbound when it crossed into the eastbound lane and crashed head-on into a red Ford Focus.

The Ford driver, a 62-year-old man from Scappoose, was killed in the collision. A Ford passenger, a 59-year-old woman from Scappoose, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital.

The Subaru driver, a 69-year-old man from Longview, sustained severe injuries. He was flown to the hospital by Life Flight.

Traffic delays were experienced in the area due to the collision.
