Deputies said a pickup pulling a boat and trailer was crossing the tracks when it was hit by a southbound train.
Savanna, IL. – Two persons were killed after a train accident on Monday afternoon in Savanna, according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident occurred a while before 3:00 p.m. on April 13, at a private rail crossing just off Illinois 84 across from the Savanna Tri-Township Airport.
Deputies said a pickup pulling a boat and trailer was crossing the tracks when it was hit by a southbound train.
One individual riding in the pickup truck was declared dead at the crash site. A second person, also a truck’s occupants, was transported by ambulance to a hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
No additional information concerning this crash was provided.
