Deputies said a gray sport-utility car did not yield to a squad car at the junction of Washington and Hamlin boulevards. The SUV crashed into the squad vehicle and three parked vehicles.

Chicago, IL. – Two Chicago police officers were hospitalized after a traffic collision early this morning in Chicago’s West Park neighborhood, according to the Chicago Police Department.
The accident happened at 12:01 a.m. on April 12 in the 3800 block of West Washington Boulevard.
Deputies said a gray sport-utility car did not yield to a squad car at the junction of Washington and Hamlin boulevards. The SUV crashed into the squad vehicle and three parked vehicles.
The squad vehicle had its lights and sirens on at the time.
The SUV driver, a 42-year-old man, and three male SUV passengers were hospitalized at Mount Sinai Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Two police officers were also transported to a local hospital in good condition.
The SUV driver was taken into custody. Charges and traffic tickets were pending.
An investigation is underway.
