Deputies said a van was halted at a red light on Pringle Road Southeast. When the light changed, the van made a right turn and headed east on Madrona Avenue Southeast.

Salem, OR. – A bicyclist was killed after a traffic accident on Monday in Salem, according to the Salem Police Department.
The accident occurred at 4:36 p.m. on April 6, at Pringle Road Southeast and Madrona Avenue Southeast.
Deputies said a van was halted at a red light on Pringle Road Southeast. When the light changed, the van made a right turn and headed east on Madrona Avenue Southeast.
At the same time, a bicyclist was riding in the bike lane on the east side of Pringle Road Southeast. The cyclist fell to the ground in unclear circumstances and was hit by the van.
The van driver, 27 years, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
An investigation is underway.
