Cocoa Woman Killed in Car Crash near North Courtenay Parkway and Myrtice Avenue in Merritt Island

Merritt Island, FL. – A 29-year-old Cocoa woman was killed after a vehicle accident on Monday evening in Merritt Island, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at around 6:24 p.m. on April 6, near the North Courtenay Parkway and Myrtice Avenue intersection.

Troopers said the woman was heading northbound on Courtenay Parkway in a 2011 Kia Sedona when the car went off the road and crashed into a building.

The woman was rushed to Cape Canaveral Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Troopers said the woman could have suffered a medical condition causing the collision.

The woman was not wearing a seat belt at the time.

An investigation is underway.
