Minor Killed, 3 Critically Injured in Vehicle Accident at Happy Valley Road in Peoria

Police said a vehicle with five minors was heading southbound on Lake Pleasant Parkway while another vehicle was turning left and the two cars collided.

Minor Killed After 2-Car Accident at Happy Valley Road and Lake Pleasant Parkway in Peoria

Peoria, AZ. – A minor was killed and multiple children hurt following a two-vehicle accident on Tuesday afternoon in Peoria, according to the Peoria Police Department.

The accident occurred a while after 12:00 p.m. on March 31st at Happy Valley Road and Lake Pleasant Parkway.

Police said a vehicle with five minors was heading southbound on Lake Pleasant Parkway while another vehicle was turning left and the two cars collided.

One of the minors was thrown out of the car. 

Four of the minors were rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. One of the minors died at the hospital.

The five minors were students at Basis Peoria.

The driver of the other car was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The two drivers stayed at the crash site and were cooperative.

Police confirmed impairment did not seem to have played a role in the collision.

The road was closed to give way to an on-scene investigation.

No additional information concerning this crash was provided.
