Deputies said a 15-year-old Cisne resident was heading westbound on the shoulder of the highway in a side by side and was trying to turn left onto Ironwood Road when they pulled out in front of an eastbound semi in unclear circumstances. The semi then hit the side by side.
Clay County, IL. – One person was killed after a semi-truck collision on Sunday evening in Clay County, according to the Clay County Coroner’s Office.
The accident occurred at 6:43 p.m. on March 29 at the intersection of Ironwood Rd and US Highway 50.
Deputies said a 15-year-old Cisne resident was heading westbound on the shoulder of the highway in a side by side and was trying to turn left onto Ironwood Road when they pulled out in front of an eastbound semi in unclear circumstances. The semi then hit the side by side.
The 15-year-old was rushed to Clay County Hospital where he died.
No additional information concerning this crash was provided.
An investigation by the Illinois State Police Police and the Clay County Coroner’s Office is underway.
