Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Harlem Avenue and 71st Street in Bridgeview

Police said the man was walking along with his friend and was crossing the street from the area of the Krash Bar 7112 S. Harlem Ave. to the east side of Harlem Avenue when he was hit by a red Chevrolet Impala.

Man Dies After Hit-and-Pedestrian Accident on Harlem Avenue and 71st Street in Bridgeview

Bridgeview, IL. – A man was killed after a hit-and-run pedestrian accident early Sunday morning in the southwest Chicago suburb of Bridgeview, according to the Bridgeview Police Department.

The accident occurred at about 1:35 a.m. on March 29 in the 8600 block of South Harlem Avenue.

Police said the man was walking along with his friend and was crossing the street from the area of the Krash Bar 7112 S. Harlem Ave. to the east side of Harlem Avenue when he was hit by a red Chevrolet Impala. The Chevrolet was heading in the median lane of southbound Harlem Avenue at the time.

The man was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Chevrolet driver fled the scene and was later found and charged for hit-and-run.

Police closed Harlem Avenue following the accident.

No other information concerning this crash was provided.

An investigation is underway.
