Homewood, IL. – A 14-year-old boy was killed after a multi-vehicle accident on Sunday night in Homewood, according to the Homewood Police Department.

The crash happened a while before 8:50 p.m. on March 22, at 183rd Street and Governors Highway.

Police said a Chevy was heading south on Governors Highway when it swerved off the roadway and hit two stopped vehicles halted at Governors facing westbound 183rd Street.

The Chevy Equinor driver ran from the crash site and was later found by police. The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

A 14-year-old boy who was a passenger from one of the stopped cars was declared dead at the crash site.

The drivers of the two stopped vehicles and another passenger were also treated and transported to the hospital.
