Police said a black sport-utility car was traveling southeast on South Chicago Avenue when it ran a red light and struck a white sedan headed east on 75th Street.

Greater Grand Crossing, IL. – One driver was killed and another critically injured in a vehicle accident on Saturday night in Greater Grand Crossing, according to the Chicago Police Department.
The accident happened at 10:40 p.m. March 21, in the 7500 block of South South Chicago Avenue.
Police said a black sport-utility car was traveling southeast on South Chicago Avenue when it ran a red light and struck a white sedan headed east on 75th Street.
The male black SUV driver sustained injuries and was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he sustained fatal injuries.
The white sedan driver was transported to the same medical center in a critical condition.
The drivers were the sole occupants in their cars.
An investigation is underway.
