Jacksonville, FL. – A 19-year-old woman from Yulee was killed after a motorcycle accident on Sunday evening on the Buckman Bridge in Jacksonville, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident happened on southbound Interstate 295 at about 6:30 p.m.

Troopers said the woman was riding a motorcycle on I-295 in the left center southbound lane near the west end of the bridge when she crashed into the rear of a sport utility car driving ahead of her.

The woman was rushed to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The SUV driver, a man, suffered minor injuries due to the collision.

Multiple southbound lanes on the Buckman Bridge were closed following the accident.

An investigation is underway.
