Champaign County, IL. – Two people were injured following a traffic collision on Thursday night near Rantoul in Champaign County, according to the Illinois State Police.
The accident occurred a while before 9:00 p.m. on March 12, at milepost 248, two miles south of the exit to Rantoul.
Police said a single passenger vehicle crashed for reasons still under investigation. The car entered the center median, rolled over and hit a guardrail.
Two people were hurt in the crash and were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
Police closed northbound lanes of I-57 at Champaign’s Market Street, eight miles south of the accident.
The roadway was reopened at 3:24 a.m.
