Authorities said a Mercedes was heading east on Manchester while a Kia was heading west. The Mercedes crossed the center line and struck the Kia head-on.
Capron, IL. – One person was killed after a head-on collision on Thursday evening in Boone County, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident happened at about 5:30 p.m. on March 5, in the 7500 block of Manchester Road.
Authorities said a Mercedes was heading east on Manchester while a Kia was heading west. The Mercedes crossed the center line and struck the Kia head-on.
The Mercedes driver, a 49-year-old Wisconsin man, was declared dead at the crash site.
The Kia driver was transported to an area hospital for treatment of severe injuries.
An investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction team and the Boone County Coroner is underway.
