Tempe, AZ. – One person was killed and another was injured in a wrong-way collision early Sunday morning in Tempe, according to the AZDPS.
The fatal collision happened at about 1:15 a.m. on the westbound US 60 collector distributor lanes from the SR 143 as it parallels Interstate 10 near Broadway Road.
DPS said a vehicle was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when it collided head-on with another vehicle in the collector distributor lanes.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The collision closed the collector distributor lanes for several hours.
Troopers ate investigating the accident.
