Authorities said the woman was heading north on 2500 E when her car swerved off the road and struck a tree.
Homer, IL. – An 82-year-old woman was killed after a single-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon in Homer, according to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident occurred at about 12:15 p.m. on February 9, on County Road 2500 East near County Road 700.
Authorities said the woman was heading north on 2500 E when her car swerved off the road and struck a tree.
A witness managed to pull the woman out of the car before it burst into flames. They performed CPR and stopped when she was determined to be dead.
No one else was inside the car.
An autopsy is scheduled.
No other information concerning this crash was released.
An investigation is underway.
