Police said the man was crossing the road when he was hit by a white 2016 van operated by a 50-year-old Orlando man. The vehicle was heading southbound on U.S. 27.

Leesburg, FL. – A 53-year-old Leesburg man was killed after a pedestrian accident on Friday night in Leesberg, according to the Leesburg Police Department.
The accident occurred on February 6, near the U.S. Highway 27 and County Road 48 intersection.
Police said the man was crossing the road when he was hit by a white 2016 van operated by a 50-year-old Orlando man. The vehicle was heading southbound on U.S. 27.
The Leesburg man was declared dead at the scene.
Police closed southbound lanes of U.S. 27 for about three hours to give way to an on-scene investigation.
An investigation is underway.
