Jacksonville, FL. – A 30-year-old woman of Jacksonville was killed after a construction vehicle accident on Monday afternoon in Jacksonville.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at around 2:15 p.m. on February 9, on westbound I-10 near Lane Avenue.
Troopers said the woman was heading westbound when she tried to merge right and she lost control of the sedan and swerved into the left shoulder, hitting a parked excavator by the barrier wall.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department officials took the woman to the hospital where she died.
The woman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Traffic delays were experienced on westbound I-10 for hours to give way to an on-scene investigation. The roadway was reopened a while after 5:00 p.m.
