The driver was extricated and taken to a local hospital for treatment
Linn County, OR. – One person was killed, and another was injured in a car accident near Idanha in Linn County Sunday morning, according to the Oregon State Police.
The fatal accident happened around 11:00 a.m. on February 1, on Highway 22 near milepost 68.
Police said a blue Hyundai IONIQ was traveling westbound on the highway and was trying to pass another vehicle when the driver lost control and hit a tree.
A passenger in the Hyundai died at the scene.
The driver was extricated and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The accident closed the highway for about four hours.
The collision remains under investigation.
