According to the Nevada State Police, the accident happened on the northbound Interstate 15 near Tropicana Avenue at around 6:18 a.m.
A black Nissan SUV crashed into a white freeway service patrol vehicle.
The driver of the service patrol vehicle was outside the vehicle offering assistance to a motorist when the crash occurred.
The driver of the Nissan SUV was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the service patrol vehicle was not injured in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
